Runners will be given a helping hand at this year’s Sheffield half marathon thanks to a bus firm.
Stagecoach Yorkshire is to provide the ‘sweep’ bus at this year’s race, following runners around the 13.1-mile route on Sunday, April 6, and collecting those who do not feel able to finish.
It will then deliver the runners back to Don Valley Bowl, where the race will start and end.
John Young, Stagecoach Yorkshire acting commercial director, said: “This is the second year running we have teamed up with the Sheffield Half Marathon to support the race.
“We are proud to be on board once again and we are delighted to be offering our services at the 2014 event.
“The bus will be available for those runners who, for whatever reason, feel unable to complete the event.”
