South Yorkshire bus drivers could be giving a lift to Usain Bolt during the Commonwealth Games.

Bus operator First has been awarded the contract to provide the official transport service during Games, which begin in Glasgow tomorrow.

Ten South Yorkshire drivers have been asked to work.

One driver from Sheffield, Adam Bennett, said: “We’re proud to be part of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and proud to represent First South Yorkshire. We’ll be going all out to set new driving and customer service personal bests.”

Darren Tingay, from Sheffield, said: “I’m hoping to be fortunate enough to transport some athletes. Maybe even Usain Bolt. It’s a great opportunity and I’m very excited to be part of Glasgow 2014.

Like Adam, I’m aiming to set a new PB.”
