Bus company reprimanded

SHEFFIELD bus operator Linburg Touring has been issued with a formal warning by the Traffic Commissioner after staff repeatedly worked longer than permitted hours.

The decision, given at a public inquiry, followed investigations by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency.

Officials found instances in which some staff had worked for more than 4.5 hours without a break - when they are legally required to be given one.

They also found that, on several occasions, drivers had failed to keep a record of the time they had spent travelling to the location of the vehicle they would be using. The Traffic Commissioner said better training was needed for management at the firm.
