Burst water main causes rush hour problems in Rotherham town centre

Doncaster Gate has been closed following the leak and drivers are being urged to avoid the area.

The road is closed between Percy Street and Doncaster Road and Yorkshire Water officials are at the scene, carrying out repairs.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Standon Drive in Sheffield will also be closed throughout this week for essential water main repairs.

The road, in Wincobank will be shut for essential repair work until Friday 17 January.

The route will be closed at all times and dates while the repairs are carried out.

It means that the number 36 bus service will not be able to serve Standon Road and Standon Drive while the work takes place and passengers are advised to check timetables for details of changes to services.
