A burst water main flooded a busy street in Sheffield city centre.
The main, located opposite West Bar Roundabout on Corporation Street, sent a river of water across two car parks and down to Water Street yesterday afternoon.
It left deep puddles in the road and also bits of rock and debris strewn across the road, with cars forced to drive through standing water.
An employee working nearby said the water had ‘just appeared out of nowhere’ at about 3pm.
Yorkshire Water staff attended the scene and switched off the water source to stop the flooding at about 4pm.
Staff then started to dig up the road to investigate the cause of the incident.
