Burgled home

Dear South Yorkshire police, 3-4 years ago my home was burgled, I reported my findings to the CC community cop of my investigations. He said I wondered where he had gone, I lost him for six months. I asked him to question the man, to be told don't worry we have him in custody for another crime for which he later went down. I always thought when in custody they could question the subjects. I hate it when you know who has done it but plod is not bothered.
