Burglars are being hunted over a spate of break-ins across Sheffield.

One of the offences took place in Abbeydale Road, Abbeydale, while the occupant of the property was on holiday.

South Yorkshire Police said entry was gained by forcing open a communal front door.

Investigations are also underway into burglaries in Northcote Avenue, Heeley; Brincliffe Edge Road, Brincliffe; Silverdale Road, Ecclesall; Harland Road, Sharrow and Meersbrook Park Road, Meersbrook.

Burglaries were also committed in Kerwin Road, Dore; Gleadless Road and Raeburn Road, both in Gleadless Valley, earlier this week.
