The buns are on us say students as they celebrate author's birthday

STUDENTS at a South Yorkshire centre for dyslexics threw a birthday celebration for best-selling children's author Roald Dahl.

The students, from the Support4dyslexia centre at Harthill, near Rotherham, organised a Roald Dahl Day to coincide with the late writer’s birthday.

Some of the students chose to dress up in costumes from favourite books including James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Witches.

The privately-run centre has around 20 students aged from six to 15 as well as some adults, and specialises in helping them overcome their dyslexia.

Its work includes helping dyslexic youngsters overcome their fear of starting a new school or taking exams.

Sarah Chambers, who runs the centre, said: “Roald Dahl is a favourite with many of the young people we get here. This was an opportunity for them to show just how much they like his books.”
