Bungalows set alight
ARSONISTS broke into a boarded-up derelict bungalow in Kendray last night - climbing through the roof to set the building alight.
The blaze spread to an adjoining empty bungalow and both buildings were gutted by the blaze.
Firefighters from the Barnsley station were called out to Larch Place just before 9pm and had to use breathing apparatus to search both blazing buildings to ensure no-one was trapped inside.
They used two fire engines and an aerial ladder to put out the flames.
