Bumper crop for show

Last year there were 73 items put forward for the event but this year the figure was up by over 100 to 174 .

Pat Baldwin, a member of the Tickhill Horticultural Society that runs the show, said: "Last year we had about 73 entries but this year we've had 174. Both the baking sessions and needlework were up by previous years and the children's entries were high. The vegetable exhibitions were of a very high standard. The standard was so high they had to give two people third prize."
