A CONSTRUCTION firm is recruiting its next generation of apprentices, with a former Balby Carr School pupil among them.

Ben Lane has become an apprentice joiner with Redrow Homes and is one of 20 to join the firm in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

He will be based at Redrow’s Danum St Giles venture in Doncaster.

Ben said: “I did a course in construction and got my highest mark in joinery.

“I’m now studying carpentry and joinery at Doncaster College and am enjoying getting hands on experience during my apprenticeship with Redrow.”

Redrow director Karen Jones, said: “It is vital for our industry that we continue to invest in training, even during testing economic times.”
