Britain’s Got Talent dream of Bassetlaw kitchen porter

A kitchen porter from Bassetlaw is hoping to show that Britain’s Got Talent – after impressing in an audition for the hit TV show.

Michael Bower, aged 21, was among dozens of hopefuls to audition for talent scouts for the hit show – with the hope of winning a chance to perform for its celebrity judges.

The comedy singer and dancer, from Ranskill, near Retford, auditioned before two TV producers at Cast theatre in Doncaster.

He said: “I think the audition went well.

“I could see the judge was dancing a bit and she said I would get lots of clapping from an audience.

“I just want to make people laugh.”

Michael now faces an anxious wait before hearing whether he has been successful – and could then be invited to perform in front of a packed theatre, as well as the celebrity judging panel of pop mogul Simon Cowell, comedian David Walliams, actress Amanda Holden and singer Alesha Dixon.

The talent scouts from Thames TV – which produces the annual ITV variety contest – welcomed dozens of hopefuls to the Waterdale theatre to see what the region had to offer.

Successful acts will be invited to perform in front of the judges and could then get the chance to perform on live TV to impress the watching public, who get to choose the overall winner.

Theshow has launched the career of a number of stars, including dance act Diversity and singers Susan Boyle and Paul Potts.
