Bricks, rubble sold as laptops in car boot con

CONMEN passed off a sackful of bricks and rubble as laptop computers in a fiddle at a Doncaster car boot sale.

Their victim was visiting Tickhill car boot sale when he was approached by two men and shown two laptop computers in a rucksack.

He agreed to buy the laptops and drove into town with one of the men to get some money out of the bank. The second man followed in his car, and the victim handed over the cash. He was given the rucksack, but when he opened the bag later he found only bricks and rubble inside.

Police spokesman Lindsay Rust said: “We would like to advise residents to be wary of being approached and offered goods for sale in this way.”
