Around 75 years ago I remember standing around a war memorial as the trumpet sounded out.

It was for the 11th hour of the 11th day and my St John uniform was only covering goose pimples as the morning cold hit me.

The same scene will be there as others stand around memorials thanking those who lay down their lives to protect our shores so that we may have a free life.
