SHEFFIELD city centre will ring with the sound of applause when a one-minute clap takes place – to raise awareness of breast cancer.
The event takes place at 12.30pm on Friday, October 5, in Barker’s Pool in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
The event has been organised to launch Breast Cancer Awareness Month and promote the charity’s Pink Fridays campaign.
Breast Cancer Care area fundraiser Helen Cameron said: “This is the first time we have tried an event of this type in Sheffield.
“We are very excited and really hope it will help make people aware we are here to support them. To make the applause heard far and wide we really need the city to get behind us. All we need is everyone to turn up at Barkers Pool outside the City Hall by 12.20pm ready to make some noise at 12.30pm.”
