AN arson attack at a Doncaster school last night is being investigated by police.

The blaze was reported at Wind Hill Primary School on Hollingworth Close, Mexborough, at 1.05 am today.

A police spokesman said: “It is believed the play area at the rear of the school, that is predominately made of plastic, was moved and pushed up against a set of doors, which were then set on fire causing the windows to smash and damage to the doors.

No one was injured.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 35 or 40 of April 25.
