Breaking: Police hunt attacker after man suffered head injuries

A 22-YEAR-OLD Sheffield man sustained head injuries after being assaulted in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to Deerlands Avenue, Parson Cross, after receiving reports of a disturbance at around 2.20am.

When they arrived officers found there were a number of young men involved in the incident.

The injured man was ferried by ambulance to the Northern General Hospital for observation.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A man has been arrested and questioned by police.

Deerlands Avenue was closed in both directions until around 10 am.
