BREAKING: Pedestrian struck by bus in Sheffield

A pedestrian was hit by a bus on a busy Sheffield road this afternoon.

A pedestrian was hit by a bus in Hillsborough, Sheffield, this afternoon

The incident, which happened shortly before 3pm on Langsett Road in Hillsborough, brought traffic to a standstill.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a pedestrian receiving treatment by ambulance officers near the Hillsborough tram stop.

The incident disrupted trams and buses. The First South Yorkshire number 97 bus was terminated at Malin Bridge, while the First 52a stopped at Heavygate.

Other services were diverted to Penistone Road/Bradfield Road.

Tram services on the blue and yellow lines were turning around at the Shalesmoor stop.
