BREAKING: Man bailed over Sheffield shooting

A man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a shooting in Sheffield has been bailed.

The 24-year-old was arrested following a shooting in Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, on Monday night in which Cameron Spalding, 25, suffered life threatening injuries.

He was shot on his chest and rushed to hospital where his condition today is stable.

A resident on the street said he heard a gunshot, looked out of his window and saw two men with a gun shooting another man.

Detectives have not yet established whether the shooting is linked to any others in the city.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "It is still too early in the investigation to determine whether this incident is linked to any others."
