BREAKING: Emergency services attend scene of crash near Sheffield pub

A man has been taken to hospital after a one-car collision on a Sheffield road.

Emergency services were called around 5.05pm this evening to Worrall Road at the junction of Wadsley Lane in Hillsborough.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said the driver, an adult male, has been taken to the Northern General Hospital after the collision close to the Horse and Jockey pub.

The spokesman added the driver did not suffer serious injuries and is conscious.

The road is closed in both directions and bus routes are being diverted until recovery crews can clear the road.

The 57 bus service is being diverted between Hillsborough and Worrall via Middlewood Road & Langsett Avenue in both directions.
