Bottles and a chair were thrown when a melee broke out in the entrance to Sheffield’s 02 Academy nightclub, a court heard.
Reveller Abdi Hussein, aged 23, was assaulted outside the club but instead of leaving he tried to get back in.
It sparked a battle between security staff and a group of men which was captured on the club’s CCTV cameras.
Sheffield Crown Court heard just 12 days previously Hussein was involved in a separate affray at another club when he lost his temper in the queue.
He has been locked up in the past for robbery and possessing an offensive weapon.
James Gould, prosecuting, said Hussein could be seen on the CCTV footage trying to gain entry to the Arundel Gate club.
Security staff tried to close the doors to keep the mob out but bottles and a chair were thrown from inside.
When arrested Hussein, of Mount Street, Sharrow, made no comment.
He admitted the affray which took place in the early hours of April 21.
Zaiban Alam, defending Hussein, said he had been doing well on a supervision order made by the magistrates’ court.
Recorder Amanda Rippon gave Hussein a four-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and a three-month curfew order.
She said: “You have got to stop behaving like this.
“Do this again and you will get locked up for a long time.”
