Brassed Off celebrates 20th anniversary
20 years after it hit our screens, classic South Yorkshire movie Brassed Off will be playing at Mexborough's Cosy Cinema.
The 1996 British hit was set in the fictional village of Grimely and was inspired by the real life pit closure at Grimethorpe, in Barnsley, and the struggle for survival of its world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band. The film will be shown on Thursday March 10 at 7.30pm on the outdoor screen at the Concertina Band Club on Dolcliffe Road.
