TWO boys have been arrested on suspicion of arson after fire gutted Frecheville Youth Centre in Sheffield.
A bin was allegedly pushed up against the building, in Fox Lane, and set alight and the fire spread to the ground and first floor.
The ground floor and first floor were engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
Firefighters battled to save the building but four rooms were destroyed.
Watch manager Steve Krzebietka, whose Mansfield Road crew attended the fire, said after the incident, on Sunday September 11: “We had a couple of jets on it from outside before we entered to tackle the fire from inside and we managed to contain it to four rooms.”
The boys, aged 12 and 14, were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
