Fire crews had to rescue a small boy from his own bed in Doncaster early today.

Adwick firefighters were sent to Cawdor Street, Bentley, just after midnight because the child’s finger was trapped in his mattress.

They spent almost an hour cutting the mattress open so the three-year-old could be freed.

Paramedics also attended and took the boy to hospital for treatment to his swollen finger.
