Boy knifed outside South Yorkshire college

A boy, aged 16, was knifed in an attack outside a South Yorkshire college.

South Yorkshire Police said the teenager escaped with 'minor injuries' following the attack outside Rotherham College of Arts and Technology in Eastwood Lane, Rotherham, yesterday afternoon.

Today there is a police presence at the college while an investigation into the incident is underway.

Three teenage boys, two aged 16 and the other 15, were quizzed over the attack yesterday before being released on bail

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to Rotherham College of Arts and Technology, Eastwood Lane, at about 12.50pm on Wednesday following reports that a 16-year-old boy had been assaulted."His injuries, believed to have been caused by a knife, are thought to be minor."An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

"Three teenage boys - two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old - have been arrested on suspicion of assault and have been bailed pending further inquiries."There will be a police presence at the school today to provide reassurance while inquiries continue."
