A school boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a van in Sheffield this afternoon.

Police were called at around 3.20pm to a collision between a child and a van on Copper Beech Close, Beighton.
A police spokesman said: “It is reported that a 10-year-old boy suffered serious injuries in the collision.
“He has been taken to hospital via ambulance to receive treatment.
“The road is currently closed from West Street/Eckington Road to Orchard Lane while officers carry out enquiries.”
