Former boxer Johnny Nelson is hoping a ‘white collar boxing’ event he is promoting packs a punch for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The former WBO Cruiserweight Champion has given his support to the event, which will see boxing rookies being trained by boxer Ryan Rhodes and Mark Willie at Ryan’s London Road gym in Sheffield.
After eight weeks of training, contenders will then take to the boxing ring on November 22 at Magna, Rotherham, where they will box in three two-minute rounds against an opponent of a similar calibre.
Money raised will go to Bluebell Wood.
Johnny said: “There is a real lack of government funding for places such as Bluebell Wood and I don’t think many people realise just how hard it is for the children and their families affected.”
