Boss makes sentimental cup return

A great FA Cup comeback by Stocksbridge Park Steels has set up a clash with Frickley Athletic in the first qualifying round.

It will mean a return to South Elmsall for Stocksbridge manager Garry Marrow, formerly in charge at Westfield Lane.

Stocksbridge came from 2-0 down to beat Curzon Ashton 3-2 to earn the trip to South Elmsall on September 15 to face their fellow UniBond League side who are a division higher in the Premier Division.

Dinnington’s reward for their giant-killing feat at Unibond League Rossendale is a home tie against another Unibond side Penrith.

Parkgate also produced a shock when knocking out Unibond opposition and they must travel to either Colwyn Bay or Congleton who drew 2-2 on Saturday and replay at Congleton tonight.

The winners of the Emley-Hallam replay tomorrow will be at home to either Woodley Sports or Mossley who also must replay.

Worksop Town enter the competition at this stage and face fellow UniBond League side Kendal Town.

There is 2,250 for the clubs that get through the next round. The last round success was worth 1,000.
