A SHEFFIELD couple have celebrated tying the knot in style - after winning help to make their dream wedding day a reality.
Rebecca and Richard Smith, who is a bookmaker, of Parson Cross, won a raffle a Wedding and Civil Partnership Showcase event at Sheffield Town Hall.
The prize was a free ceremony in the Town Hall reception suite with a drinks reception and bridal bouquet and top table flowers by Katie Peckett Wedding Flowers, of Ecclesall Road.
A Stress Free Day package was provided by Sheffield-based planning company, Unique Wedding Planning and chair covers and matching sashes by Love in a Mist.
Credit control team leader Rebecca, aged 26 and bookie Richard, 27, had their special day captured on a free DVD by Firstsight Wedding Videos.
Rebecca said: “When we won the prize at the Town Hall it was a complete shock, it didn’t sink in for days!”
The couple still had a few things to arrange, including the wedding breakfast and they hired photographer Andy Espin to take pictures.
But Rebecca added: “We were so lucky and grateful to all the companies that contributed to the prize, without them we wouldn’t have had the wedding we dreamed of, well for a few more years anyway!”
Joy Hersey-Todd, from Unique Wedding Planning, said: “As soon as they won, I really wanted to make sure they had the day of their lives, so got to work with them straight away.
“After looking for a venue to host the rest of their celebrations, the couple fell in love with everything the Town Hall had to offer and chose to hold the rest of their wedding in the Town Hall reception suite and Silver Room.
“Everything went to plan and they and their guests had a wonderful day.”
