BOMB disposal experts were called out to a Sheffield residential area after a man was injured trying to make homemade fireworks.
Police said the man, who was in his 50s, suffered severe hand injuries in the incident.
The bomb squad and police officers were called to an address on Meadowhead, Sheffield, on Wednesday, at about 7pm.
Officers said they attended at the address as a precautionary measure, but police said today they were not taking any further action.
A spokesman from the Woodseats and Gleadless Valley safer neighbourhood team, said: “South Yorkshire Police, Sheffield Council and Explosive Ordnance Disposal would advise people to take safety precautions when handling fireworks.”
