Bollywood celebration for charity show

BOLLYWOOD fever returned to South Yorkshire for a spectacular charity show in Cantley.

Earlier this summer the county hosted the Bollywood ‘Oscars’ - and the Indian film industry was again the theme for Maureen and Nadeem Shah’s annual charity bash at their home.

Some 300 guests were entertained by the Bollywood Dreams Dance Group from Birmingham, and a three-course banquet of Indian specialities before dancing the night away in a marquee.

The event is expected to have raised almost 30,000 in aid of the AHS Foundation, which was launched in October 2005 in aid of victims of the Kashmir earthquake disaster.

The Foundation is building a hospital in the stricken village of Noon Bagla. This was the fourth annual major fund-raiser held by the Shahs at their home and they described it as by far the most successful.

Mrs Shah said: “We have had some wonderful evenings here, but this beat them all.”
