A body has been found in the search for a top Chesterfield policeman missing from home for nearly a week.

Police officers and mountain rescue volunteers looking for 48-year-old Chief Inspector Tim Frohwein made the discovery at around 1pm yesterday in the Goyt Valley, in the Peak District.

The man has yet to be formally identified but police believe him to be Mr Frohwein, who worked for Derbyshire Police in Chesterfield and was reported missing from his Buxton home last Sunday.

Police said there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
