SHEFFIELD Council has apologised after changing the hours of parking restrictions - without warning surrounding residents and businesses.

The first people on Barber Road, Crookesmoor, knew of the change to the Urban Clearway restrictions which ban parking during the afternoon rush hour, was when signs were changed saying the operating hours started from 4pm instead of 4.30pm.

The change was approved four years ago but had not been implemented until this month. Sheffield Council said it should have informed people in the area when the restriction’s new hours were brought into operation.
