Blueprint for travel plans

Have your say

A FIFTEEN year plan to manage roads, pavements, rights of way and public transport across Derbyshire has been drawn up by council officials following a public consultation exercise.

Derbyshire County Council’s Local Transport Plan 2011-2026 aims to support economic growth by making it easier for people to get to work, encourage people not to use their cars, reduce road accidents, make public transport safer, and reduce the impact of traffic on the countryside and in towns.

Coun Simon Spencer, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “With the big squeeze on public spending, forward planning is essential as we look for ways to work even more efficiently.”
