Blue clothes help hospice

Have your say

Three enterprising students raised a whopping £6,000 for Barnsley Hospice, by encouraging pupils at 22 schools to dress in blue for a day.

Business administration apprentices Jenny Barber, aged 20, Stevie Armstrong, 19, and Lauren Wainright, 18, approached schools across the borough and persuaded pupils to donate to the hospice in return for wearing blue.

The school which took up the initiative with most success was Wombwell, where students raised £1,000 of the £6,000 total.
