A DONCASTER man has been ordered to pay £257 for fraudulently using his deceased wife’s blue badge to park in a disabled bay.
John Barry Delves, of Morgan Road, Intake, pleaded guilty to unlawfully using a blue badge to park last November.
Doncaster magistrates heard Mr Delves had displayed the disabled person’s badge which had been issued to his wife, but she had died in August 2009. Delves was fined £57 and ordered to pay costs of £200.
The prosecution was brought by Doncaster Council.
Peter Davies, Mayor of Doncaster, said: “I am very concerned about the misuse of blue badges across the borough. We will not tolerate fraudsters trying to evade payment of parking charges.”
