POLICE made a total of 40 arrests during a high-profile blitz on car crime in South Yorkshire.
Officers hit the roads for the latest phase of Operation Impact.
Among those taking part were dog units, firearms teams, roads policing crews, mounted units and the force helicopter.
Police made 230 vehicle stop checks during the day of action.
They found 13 vehicles used in crime, or driven by motorists with no insurance.
Officers executed eight search warrants for stolen property and drugs, as well as issuing 33 fixed penalty tickets.
They also made 1,075 checks to identify vehicles likely to be targeted by criminals, finding 204 vehicles vulnerable to crooks.
Days of high-profile action are now planned to take place every month.
