Sheffield is playing host to the UK’s biggest athletics event for blind and partially sighted children.

The event at the English Institute of Sport on Saturday, October 3 will give more 150 blind children the chance to become budding Paralympic stars of the future.

The children taking part are aged between four and 1 and come from 23 Actionnaires clubs from around the country.

Actionnaires clubs are open to blind and partially sighted children to give opportunities to develop their fitness and artistic skills, while encouraging self confidence and social interaction.

Action for Blind People also provides information about sight loss for young people, activity breaks as well as help with assistive technology and support for parents.
