“There’s lots of brilliant dance being made across South Yorkshire and it’s great that The Civic provides opportunities for it to be shared locally.”

Using dance, theatre and interactive games, the piece celebrates the past 65 years of British popular culture.

Adele said: “Blast from the Past visits music and memorable moments from every single year since 1952, including the toys and tracks we all remember, and the fads and fashions we might prefer to forget.

“The essence of the show is that it celebrates British pop culture; from hula hoops to shell suits and Tupperware to Facebook. We love pop culture and the way it gives us all common ground, so the show has a real celebratory feel to it and it’s suitable for all the family, so come join the fun!”

Blast From The Past is in Barnsley on Friday and is recommended for ages 10-plus.
