I read with pride the letter written by one of your readers regarding the entertainment at the Black Swan, Sheffield.
I was fortunate to be manager at that time. It was a time when I was able to book some of the 1960s stars.
Billy Fury, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Leapy Lee etc.
There were also many top class local bands around at that time, who were, in my opinion good enough to have a spot on TV.
Sunday night was dedicated to heavy rock bands. All these were good for business as well as great entertainment.
I miss the good old days.
