Bin bags of cannabis cuttings dumped outside Doncaster children's camp site
Bin bags stuffed with cuttings from cannabis plants have been found dumped outside a Doncaster children’s camp site.
The plants – some with leaves still attached – were discovered thrown into woodland at the entrance to Squirrel Wood camp site near Burghwallis this morning.
The popular Scout camp site is normally used hundreds of children from across the country, but is currently closed during the coronavirus lockdown.
Sarah Howitt, who made the discovery, found four black bin liners stuffed with cannabis plant clippings near to the camp site in Abbe’s Walk at around 10.30am today.
She said: “When we first saw the bags, we were disgusted that yet again there has been rubbish dumped.
"Then when we saw what it was, we were shocked and even more disgusted.
"It looks as though they have been chucked in a rush, especially as one of them is hanging in a tree.”
We have contacted South Yorkshire Police for comment.
