Biker suffers a broken kneecap

A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a broken kneecap when he came off his bike after losing control on a bend.

The 37-year-old was travelling along Pontefract Road, Hoyle Mill, Barnsley, when his bike – a black Skyjet 125cc – left the road, hit a stone wall and rebounded into a concrete lamppost.

Witnesses to the incident at 12.20pm last Friday should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote 424 of Friday, March 2. The man is from Kinsley, West Yorkshire.

Three cars were involved in a collision on Rod Moor Lane, Dronfield Woodhouse.

Fire crews from Dronfield were called to make the scene safe on Saturday afternoon, but no-one was trapped or injured.

And a car skidded off Dunston Road in Chesterfield and landed in a ditch.

The driver was not injured but firefighters made the vehicle safe after the crash last Friday afternoon.
