Biker fighting for life after crash with car on Woodhead

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after a collision with a car on the A628 Woodhead Pass.

Emergency services were alerted to the smash at 12.45pm on Wednesday and discovered that a brown BMW 320D and a grey Suzuki Bandit motorcyle were involved.

Both vehicles were travelling towards the Flouch roundabout when they collided outside the Dog and Partridge pub.

Police said the 36-year-old rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He was still detained yesterday.

n Witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw the motorcycle on the A628 prior to the incident, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 435 of September 25.
