Biker, 60, injured in crash

POLICE want to trace witnesses to a collision which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

The smash happened at the junction of High Street and Church Street, Bolton upon Dearne, Barnsley, on Tuesday, at about 1.15pm, and involved a black BMW and blue Honda motorcycle.

Police said the bike was being ridden by a 60-year-old man from Barnsley, who was travelling along High Street towards Church Street when the BMW, driven by a 44-year-old woman from Doncaster, approached the junction from Church Street and started turning right onto High Street.

The biker sustained serious injuries including a fractured arm and leg and was detained at the Rotherham District General Hospital.

The BMW driver was not injured.
