Biker, 20, injured in road smash

A YOUNG motorcycle rider has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield.

The 20-year-old was hurt on Sheffield Road, in Tinsley, when a green Peugeot 406 turning right out of the Murco petrol station smashed into his black bike, which was heading in the opposite direction.

He sustained serious injuries to his leg and wrist, and was taken to the Northern General Hospital.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 25-year-old man from Mansfield, was not injured.

Witnesses, or anyone with information about the crash which happened last Friday at around 5.20pm, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 818 of November 2.
