Big society is grossly unfair

Have your say

ALONG with fuel and food increases, every middle income family will be hit by £4,000 a year as a result of Government cuts. Wages are not going up at the same rate as inflation. Add a VAT increase and it’s ordinary families that will be hit hardest.

Support for them, such as tax credits and Sure Starts, are also cut, making raising a family that much harder. At the same time, the Government is introducing tax breaks for bankers and multi-billion pound businesses. So while bankers, who caused the crisis in the first place, are getting off scot-free, normal families, who pay their bills and do the right thing, are the ones who suffer.

Not so much a Big Society, as a grossly unfair one.
