Big event for planespotters

PLANE spotters were expected at Finningley this morning to see one of the world's biggest aircraft land.

The Antonov An-124 cargo plane belonging to Volga-Dnepr Airlines was scheduled to touch down on the Robin Hood Airport runway at 7am.

It was due to load up with 100 tonnes of construction vehicles and spares which are being shipped to Conakry airport in Guinea, West Africa. The Ukrainian-built Antonov An-124 is more than 69 metres long with a wingspan of 73 metres.
