Big bucks on bid for Kyle's boots

A pair of boots, signed by England player Kyle Walker, is being auctioned off to raise funds for a local drugs charity.

The silent auction is being hosted by former Blades player Andy Reaney, who now works for Derbyshire charity SPODA, supporting the families and carers of people addicted to drugs.

Andy, who played for the Blades from 1989 to 1992, emailed England star Kyle to ask for help with the charity’s fundraising efforts and the signed boots - with fresh mud and gress still in the studs - arrived the very next day.

Andy, aged 42, said: “We were so pleased with Kyle’s fast response and we’ve put a reserve of £900 on the boots, so we’re hoping the acution will help us raise thousands of pounds for this worthy cause.

“SPODA is a vital service to the parents, siblings and carers of those suffering with a drug addiction or dependency.”

Bidding ceases on Friday February 26. Call 07496 412193 to bid.
