Best yet to come from Blades, says Collins

Neill Collins has issued a defiant warning to Sheffield United’s promotion rivals, insisting: You haven’t seen the best of us yet.

United face Crewe this afternoon sixth in the League One table, five points behind second-placed Walsall after 15 games.

But with key players including John Brayford, Bob Harris and Ryan Flynn nearing full fitness, defender Collins believes United will soon begin to stamp their authority on the division.

"We could easily be going to Crewe on the back of three wins," Collins said.

"We should have won at Oldham and against Millwall, we thought there was only one team going to win it.

"There’s just wee things that we need to improve on and we’ll do that. In football, things turn quickly whether you are at the top or the bottom.

"I think you’ll see the best of us in a few weeks because there are a lot of good players coming back, either to fitness or sharpness.

"The manager [Nigel Adkins] hasn’t been able to get that consistent selections yet but, when he does, for me everything looks positive.

"It’s a positive having him here, too."
