The Tigers completed a perfect week as they raced to a hard-fought 49-41 victory just two days after a convincing triumph over highly-rated Glasgow at Owlerton.

They have responded in perfect fashion to a trio of defeats to kick-start their title bid, putting in another tremendous all-around team performance at Shielfield Park to overcome the Bandits and edge all four Premier League points.

Sheffield winners in the first five races saw them establish an early six-point lead.

The home side hit back with a 5-1 in heat six – but the Tigers responded instantly as middle order duo Josh Bates and Kyle Howarth roared clear in the next race.

A trio of 3-3s enabled them to preserve their advantage before the influential Dimitri Berge-Simon Stead partnership struck in heat 11 to all but seal victory.

Skipper Stead, giving another inspirational performance, raced clear in heat 13 to give them enough to take maximum points as the Tigers’ top five fired them to victory.

Stead, Berge and Josh Bates all continued their fine form to bag two wins apiece whilst Jason Garrity and Howarth also recorded race wins and ran no last places.

Returning reserve Arthur Sissis won heat two to set the Tigers on their way and put in another encouraging display after his return.

Youngster Nathan Greaves struggled to make an impact at reserve, but it did not impact the end result.

They will now aim to continue their confident run of form and maintain their unbeaten home record as they host Rye House at Owlerton on Thursday (7.30).
